More importantly, though, this allows letting the keyboard backlight turn off evenwhen screen power management is inhibited. It doesn't really make sense to keep thekeyboard backlight on while watching a video, does it?

It is enabled when either “dim display” or DPMS is enabled. The timeout is the minimum of “dim display” and DPMS timeouts.
