Definitely not an intended side effect, and likely not caused by PowerDevil directly as all it does is set keyboard backlights and (on Wayland) ask KWin to turn the screen off via DPMS. But perhaps this exposed some other race condition elsewhere that previously couldn't be triggered. Let me see if there's anything I can do about it myself, or if we need support from more experienced KScreenLocker/KWin developers.
