Not going to cherry-pick this one into 6.2 either (same as !466 (merged)), contrary to the original tag. This change should be safe, but without !466 (merged) or new KWin/Wayland "observed brightness" protocol additions it won't fix any known bugs either. So without an immediate need, might as well keep it 6.3 only.
